SPOC Grid Inverter Technologies was formed as a part of SPOC Automation with a core team having long-standing expertise in marine power systems and batteries. Gully breaks down SPOC’s solutions into two parts: energy consumption (SPOC Automation) and power production (SPOC Grid). When it comes to energy consumption, the company has a long history and experience as a market leader with over 70,000 installed inverters, 3 Mn kilowatts of power generating over $400Mn annual savings. “SPOC Grid is expanding these capabilities into the power production area/market, helping clients implement new technologies, such as variable speed gensets, batteries and renewables into their new or existing power plant. For instance, on site power generation in oil and gas applications typically use rented assets.
Since the assets are used temporarily and subject to availability, they cannot be optimized completely, a problem which is exacerbated once the inevitable decline curve in production kicks in, resulting in less power consumption from the site. SPOC Grid solutions enhances genset loading, drives lower energy (fuel) consumption, minimizes fault currents, reduces maintenance costs, all while enabling any level of redundancy a cient may want. “We empower our clients in the total power system to get the greatest benefit by providing solutions that save energy, fuel costs, emissions, space, and money,” says Gully.
