To further illustrate the competency of LFP batteries, Lee compares the working environmental temperature between lead-acid and LFP batteries. The working environmental temperature for a lead-acid battery system in UPS application is 25°C to 27°C (77°F to 80.6°F). The same for Truewin Technology's LFP battery system is 10°C to 35°C (50°F to 95°F). This indicates Truewin batteries are relatively more stable in lower and higher temperature environments than traditional batteries. Since LFP's operating temperature is wider in range and offers consistent performance, air conditioner use can be reduced and generate cost savings.Putting this into numbers, after increasing the converting station's chiller system temperature by 1°C, Truewin Technology discovered that energy consumption decreased by 2 percent. Using six 1280RT chillers (70% of the normal load) for the calculation saves customers 695,000 kWh (695 MWh) of electricity, USD 59,000 ($1.8 million NTD), and reduces 385 tons of CO2 emission annually. In other cases, the voltage of the batteries must be maintained at certain float charge to ensure it is ready in response to events of sudden voltage drop or power outage. Different batteries have different amounts of energy consumption to maintain this floating state.
